ADHD and AuDHD therapy helping you move through overwhelm, pressure and avoidance.
Living with ADHD or AuDHD often means dealing with more than just focus or attention. It can show up as emotional dysregulation, where feelings rise quickly and are hard to settle. Sensory overwhelm can build in the background, leaving you drained without always knowing why. Impulsivity can pull you toward things that bring relief in the moment — food, sugar, alcohol, or other compulsive behaviours — but leave you feeling worse afterwards. At times, you may struggle with alexithymia, where it’s difficult to identify or express what you’re feeling, creating a kind of emotional fog.
You may also recognise a strong response to pressure, where expectations — even your own — lead to demand avoidance, resistance, or shutdown. This is often described as a PDA profile, or a need to stay in control when things feel overwhelming. Over time, these experiences can combine into cycles of avoidance, self-criticism, and feeling stuck.
This work focuses on helping you understand what is happening in your system and gently reducing the pressure that keeps these patterns in place. As your nervous system becomes more settled, you regain access to choice, clarity, and the ability to move forward in a way that feels manageable and sustainable.
If this resonates, you’re welcome to get in touch or book a session. We simply begin with where you are.
You are not too much. You were not given enough.
